Some of my work...

I recently produced a 1 hour documentary about the colourful roots of how British black music has entered the UK mainstream and how it is now embedded across many music genres.

Producer & Broadcaster, BBC RADIO LONDON

I worked from 2018-2020 on a series of campaigns/outside broadcasts for BBC Radio London, one being how the Windrush generation impacted our culture e.g. music, dance, food and fashion. The project was supported and funded by Voluntary Arts & Greater London Authority and a network of partners.

Freelance Producer, BRENT 2020

I'm currently working to deliver media training in interview and oral history collection skills to volunteers supporting the "No Bass Like Home" reggae project as part of the London Borough of Culture 2020 Programme. I am also undertaking a selection of professional interviews with artist/musicians from the borough to ensure we have high quality oral histories for the digital archives.

Freelance Producer, THRIVE LDN

I'm currently working to support a series of campaigns and initiatives for Thrive LDN (supported by the Mayor of London and led by the London Health Board partners), which included a recent London-wide campaign to highlight the efforts and activities of communities to improve mental health and build resilience. I also produced a recent multi camera live broadcast to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday, 5 March 2020 for Thrive LDN - the immersive storytelling performance of the children's book Ruby's Worry was streamed live to all primary schools in London.

Assessor / media trainer, ALL SPRING MEDIA

I'm currently working to support BBC apprentices based at MediaCityUK who are currently completing the Broadcast Production Apprenticeship scheme. I also design and run media training for BBC apprentices across the UK in storytelling and cover all aspects of media production, from pre-production to post production.

Freelance Producer, ROSA PRODUCTIONS

I'm currently producing a series of academic videos for Nottingham Trent University. The short films are for online use in international post-graduate courses (password protected). The style varies from short documentary/interview TV style, to presenter to camera (sometimes with green screen), some location filming etc. The lecturers often present these films and like to interview other academics to help portray what is covered on the course. I also worked as the Associate Producer on Greenham: One Hundred Years of War and Peace 2017, which was a large scale outdoor event celebrating 20 years of the Greenham Trust.

Freelance Producer, CONTENT OD

Working with the Anti-Kidnap and Extortion unit at the National Crime Agency, I produced a film as part of an online campaign which specifically addressed the threat posed by financially motivated cyber enabled blackmail (also known as Sextortion).

Podcast Producer, BBC YOUNG REPORTER

I regularly work as a media trainer for BBC Young Reporter and run workshops in podcasting to young people up and down the country. BBC Young Reporter (formerly BBC School Report) is the BBC's journalism and media project encouraging young people aged 11-18 to share their stories and get their voices heard. It's open to schools, colleges, home schools, youth organisations and community groups in the UK.

Media Trainer, INTERNEWS

I recently worked as co-trainer on a 2 week project in Kyrgyzstan with public servants/press officers and religious/community leaders. I also assisted with the development of the module for 10-day Training of Trainers. The topics required for the training were as follows:

  • * use of social networks and online platforms to improve public access to information on government initiatives on PVE
  • * promoting openness and access
  • * best practices for public awareness in emergency situations
  • * collaborating with media to counter the misinformation spread by extremist groups
  • * use of mobile devices to create and promote positive stories about religious tolerance and peace
  • * working with online channels in messengers (Telegram, Whatsapp) and social networks (Odnoklassniki, Vkontakte, Facebook)
  • * cooperation with journalists and civic activists
  • * other related topics

Staff Producer, BBC LEARNING

My role sat within the Project Production team - the part of the business that works in close collaboration with BBC brands / departments to enhance learning content and to extend the broadcast offer by inspiring audiences to actively get involved in learning something new.

I was responsible for editing guides and content on various BBC websites, as well as supporting editors with their day-to-day work. I was also responsible for checking the accuracy of the guides, tools and any external emails as proof reading was a key aspect of my job. I also worked closely with writers/academics/designers to advise of adjustments and suggest restructuring of guides where necessary.

Producer, ACT ON

I recently produced the Act On podcast series with Katie Thistleton from BBC Radio 1. The podcast series focuses on issues facing young Londoners' lives, such as inequality, the challenges of social media and the positive impact of participating in live music and cultural activities. The series opens up conversations on breaking down barriers, building resilience and the importance of having a sense of community.

Media trainer, BBC MEDIA ACTION

I recently completed a 3 day Training of Trainers training course with BBC Media Action. BBC Media Action, the BBC's international development organisation, uses the power of media and communication to inform, connect and empower people around the world, helping them to shape their own lives. Working with broadcasters, governments, other organisations and donors, BBC Media Action provides information and stimulates positive change in the areas of governance, health, and resilience and humanitarian response.
